Denver Airport

Denver Colorado Airport or the Denver International Airport (DIA) replaced the Stapleton Airport and handles 80 percent of the air traffic in Denver and is the largest airport in Denver. Located 30kms from the Colorado State capitol this airport has become a symbolic representation of the spirit of Denver and the ideas and morals it represents. The distinct tented roof of the Airport looks spectacular from the skies and presents the view of the snowcapped Rockies in winter. The steel cables that connect and support the roof resemble the Brooklyn Bridge and the pedestrian bridge that connects the terminal to the concourse A allows the tourists to have a spectacular view of the planes beneath them and also a heavenly sight of the majestic Rockies.

Apart from this the airport is decorated with murals and paintings that represents the inherent destructiveness of mankind and how they can come together to save the world. Covering an area of more than 53 square miles this airport is larger than the Manhattan Island and also one of the most advanced and high tech airports of US. It has also served as the headquarters of the Frontier Airlines and was one of the major hubs of United Airlines. Apart from this there are also numerous low cost airlines that are centered around this Airport Denver Colorado. This aesthetically beautiful concrete creation is also one of the most technologically superior airports in the world. It uses solar power that generate 2 megawatts of electricity per year saving about 5 million pounds of carbon emission annually and not only this it is also  the largest WIFI  airport in the world and also has a superior automated luggage control system  that has reduced pressure on the airport labor cost and traffic congestion.

Apart from the two main airliners it is also the central hub of Ted and The Great lakes Airlines. For the convenience of the tourist this airport is connected through cars, cabs and bus services by RTD. It runs a service called the Sky ride that offers express transport and travel from the airport to the city centers. This airport is also surrounded by a large number of hotels of wide variety and range like the Ramada Inn, Fairfield Inn, Red Roof Inn, Comfort Suites, Days Inn, Courtyard etc. Located scientifically at the far end of the city to avoid noise and sound pollution and also to protect the air traffic from the changing wind pattern and the seasonal turbulence this airport has become one of the most important centers of business and transportation.

The Rocky Mountain International Airport is another Denver Colorado Airport situated in Broomfield in between Denver and Boulder on the US highway 36.It serves as a major airport for private and chartered flights, corporate air traffic and several other flight schools. Due to its proximity to the downtown Denver region and a large number of business class hotels located in the downtown region it has a list of famous business clientele. Another Denver Colorado Airport is the  Centennial Airport located in the suburb of Denver and is the 2nd busiest airport in US in terms of landings and take offs . Apart from this it is also the base of several flight schools, flying clubs, chartered services, and aircraft sales service and aircraft maintenance service in Denver. Fort Range Airport is another located in Denver along with many other defunct and abandoned airports like the Stapleton Airport which the Denver International Airport replaced, Lowry and Buckley Air Force Base. One of the reasons for the economic growth of Denver is presence of so many world class international airports which have influenced the economy of the region very much.
